Windows -a gateway to heaven

With skyscrapers taking over our cities and buildings packed like sardines, one doesn't get to experience nature'sanity!s beauty as one would like to. Sometimes, especially those living in apartments experience little slices of heaven only through their apartment windows. The window is an urban gateway to paradise. An absolute necessity to keep one's sanity.

Beautiful Turmoil

It was noon, when the Sun decided to get behind the clouds for a quick nap.
Then the clouds took over -painting the skies a palette that was delectable.

The jarring cables, otherwise an eyesore on the citiscape, became a fetching ornament on the painted canvas. Every vestige of city life transformed itself into beautiful images.
And I stood in awe at what unfolded on the walls of heaven as the mighty Sun was having a peaceful siesta.

CITYSCAPES

There is a moment in time when the sun sets when cityscapes change into magical bioscopes, as I call them.
There is a tango of shadow and light in the skies.
And you get to see amazing pictures taking shape. You learn to see the horizon in a new light!

TALKING HANDS

Human hands can talk. And their language is universal.
Watch the hands and you will understand the meaning of unspoken words.

ELEGANCE IN GRANDEUR

There is something breathtaking about traditional jewellery. The design, the cut, the simplicity even in its opulence -it talks about beauty and elegance of a bygone era!
I'm especially partial to the traditional designs from Kerala. Though my admiration extends to all traditional and antique pieces from around the world. I like to see them, hold them, touch them -but very rarely do I wear them!

GOLD IN DIRT

Look beyond the obvious. Look under the surface. Look in between the spaces. LOOK beyond what you can SEE.... And you will find unimaginable treasures.
When I did, I found this...liquid gold, pearl drops, rubies and velvety silks.
Abundant beauty in dirty stagnant water and filled with many days' old, withered, and dying rose petals....!

MANY FACES

The story of how Ganesha won the race around the world by beating his more athletic and agile brother Subramanya, without even stepping outside his home in heaven, was one of my favourite childhood stories.
My mother would say:

You can be podgy; you can be slow on your feet;you can have a mouse as a pet; you can have a brother who gets the girls; (okay, i added that one!) you can even have an elephant head;

Yet, you don't have to be a loser. You can still win the race;you can be a leader;you can be respected;you can be loved;and you can be a winner.

All you need is a little common sense.
A heart that loves;
and a good sense of humor!
(I guess you definitely need the latter if you are an elephant head)

(The face of Ganesha is photographed through a trellis like design on a traditional lamp from Kerala).

VIVID HUES

A few droplets of water.
A few rays of sunshine.
Lots of green and a dash of red.
Mix it all up.
And you get this.....

Sunset

Words cannot describe a sunset.

You need to feel it.

Only then you can comprehend its unparalleled beauty!

It's a dance of hues.

It's what I call the dance of gods!
